What to record in a clothing inventory

A clothing inventory works when each item has enough context to recognize it later. ClosetCheck supports a quick photo or camera capture, then lets you add the details that make search, wear tracking, and cost-per-wear useful.

Three steps to make it useful

1. Use Take Photo or Choose from Library for fast capture.
2. Add the name, category, and color; fill optional fields when they matter.
3. Log wears from Today, and export a JSON copy from Settings when you have Pro.

The core item record

A ClosetCheck item has a name, category, color, optional image, optional brand, optional purchase price, optional season, optional notes, and dates for wears. Only a name or photo is required when you add it, so you can capture first and fill in details later.

Price, currency, and notes

Purchase price feeds the cost-per-wear calculation when a piece has at least one logged wear. Settings lets you choose a currency for price and cost-per-wear displays. Notes are useful for fit, repair, occasion, or anything you want beside the item.

Export and local data

Pro includes JSON export. The export contains item details, purchase price when present, season, notes, creation date, last worn date, and wear log dates. Wardrobe data is stored locally on the device, and no account is required.
